"Born and raised in the mountains of Upstate New York, Jacobs has been in music for years. After playing jazz and classical saxophone, he began singing and teaching himself guitar upon relocating to the North Florida area in 2009. His first acoustic musical venture, a Contemporary Folk duo, "NorthWest Calling Card", played local venues such as the Murray Hill Cafe before he decided to persue a solo career. A student, a free thinker and a lover of music - Jacobs' captivating voice and unique acoustic guitar are at their best on his new solo album, 'Mr. Lawrence' (2011), officially released November 2011." less

He isn’t going to be pulling any rabbits out of any hats; he’s not a magician. He’s a musician whose commanding guitar and vibrant harmonica blend perfectly with his illustrative lyrics and distinct vocals. Carlisle attended college at the University of Kansas, where he quickly decided that official studies might be a waste of his time. He thought, why compete amongst peers for grades he never really cared about, when by traveling, reading and embracing people from different demographics he could understand more about this world . With that in mind, Carlisle packed up his car and hit the road, eventually settling in Los Angeles and recording his debut album, The Youth are Sold. Chase Carlisle considers many great authors and songwriters, including Kerouac, Bukowski, Dylan and Neil Young, among his influences, and you can find their wisdom in his own music. He’s both a poet and a storyteller with a scope of the world way beyond his years. Carlisle’s songs are about life and cultivating your own path through it. Chase is a real straight shooter who has no problem lifting his personal veil for the world to see. less

Cydney drove out to California with a Uhaul attached to the back of her Camaro, a handful of cash bound with a rubber band and a six-string guitar in the passenger seat. With a head full of stories, and a heart full of passion she began writing songs. She now resides in California, and has just completed her first album with the acclaimed producer, ‘Tony Hoffer’ who has worked with other incredible artist such as Beck, Belle and Sebastian, The Thrills, The Kooks, The Fratellis. . . to name a few. This soulful new record is a unique blend of influences from the turn of the century music in the Appalachian Mountains, and the days of the chain gangs. There is an honesty in her songs that strip you naked. I hope you enjoy the journey you are about to take through the soulful, captivating, and soothing twists and turns of ‘Spokesman for the Shoeless’ as much as I have. She is the real deal! less

Kidnapped by my dad at the age of six, the consequences and impact of being abducted didn’t take its toll until I was in my early twenties. Unraveling at the seams from years of being held as an emotional hostage, I suffered through many years of heartache and darkness. Crawling out from underneath the broken pieces of my life, I slowly started to build a new beginning by examining my inner psyche when I discovered Buddhism, which took me from just surviving to thriving. In 1999 I moved from New York City to Los Angeles for a change of pace and although I came from a musical theatre background, I discovered my love for songwriting and knew I had to pursue this new way of communicating my ideas and perspectives. It has only been through my hardships and triumphs that I am able to make a contribution to society and the world around me. less
Erene, Italian born, moved to New York City in March 2000 when she realized that her songwriting was influenced by American music as much as by Italian songwriters. Her desire to learn from great American musicians drove her to choose New York City as her new home. Erene felt immediately at ease in the City and started performing right away in cafes of the Lower East Side. The warm and enthusiastic reaction of the audience was a sign that she was in the right place.
Back in Italy she started studying classical guitar and piano at a very young age, as a teenager she also began training as a jazz vocalist at “Centro Jazz” in Turin and at “Civici Corsi di Jazz” in Milan. In 1996 she discovered the “Functional Method of the Voice” by Gisela Rohmert. Erene has been studying the method in Germany and Italy ever since.
In 1997 Erene traveled to San Francisco to produce a demo with virtuoso guitarist Peppino D’Agostino, here she also had the chance to meet producer Corrado Rustici. At this time she started developing the idea to one day live in the US.
Erene won the Greenage Festival (national music competition) in Turin, Italy, in 2002 and in that occasion she opened for the world wide known percussionist Trilok Gurtu.

The voice is connected to the soul of Joan Enguita, an accomplished singer/songwriter who distills her life's experiences into melodies and lyrics in the modern folk tradition. "I think of songs as tea bags," she explains. "They have to be in the water a certain length of time before they're ready." .... Judging by her recent outpouring of material, it's tea time. The Lancaster, California-based artist has two CDs. The first, Kiss Me Awake, is a suite of songs recorded acoustically as an expressive tableaux of guitar and vocals. Her second outing, Two Suitcases, features a studio of respected Nashville musicians tastefully accompanying Joan with dobro, accordian and traditional instruments..... Joan's mother was a classically trained singer. Her father played clarinet in the Air Force band for 27 years,. As a child of a military family, relocation was a key component of life. Her immersion in music began during her early teen years in Spain as she and her friends gathered around songbooks with guitars. She taught herself to play on her brother's instrument, albeit without his permission. "As soon as I'd hear him go down the stairs, I'd go in his room and grab his guitar and his Joan Baez songbook that had chord charts," she reveals. Her intricate finger-picking style was learned in classical studies during her college years in Minnesota. .... Time spent behind bars--not as an inmate but as a visiting prison performer--has had a profound impact on Joan. "You walk through many slamming doors," she notes. "But the inmates who choose to come to those concerts are so grateful because they have very little outside contact. It's a slap of reality." Other less fettered performances include a showcase at The Folk Alliance in San Diego, coffeehouses and listening rooms throughout Southern California, a performance with Songsalive!, Borders Books and Music, a slot at Kulak's Woodshed and an appearance on the Emmy Award-winning series, Street Music L.A. .... With the release of her two CDs, plans are being made for national touring. Meanwhile, in addition to concert and festival appearances, Joan donates her performances to community, prison and charity groups, while she expands her burgeoning catalog of songs. "Songwriters are the eyes and ears of the world," she notes. .... Joan Enguita's music, like her life, has followed a path illuminated by faith, compassion and honesty. "Growing up, I had a lot of time to think," Joan says. "I have so many memories, because I moved so much. Much of my life is memory, not in the here and now, because many of those people aren't around me anymore." But the songs remember. And as they tell stories of the roads taken, her exquisite voice is a silver thread connecting all of the destinations right back to her heart. .. ........ .... COMING IN 2007 .... BEAUTIFUL--Joan has been in the studio producing and recording songs for Volume I of this women's topic CD to be used to raise awareness about domestic abuse and to raise funds for women's domestic violence shelters. This CD will be released by Joan's label, RED COYOTE RECORDS. Songs are performed by 14 Los Angeles female singer songwriters. Currently the CD is at Universal Mastering in North Hollywood. .... Plans are under way for a series of concerts featuring artists from the CD. .... --2007 will also see the Red Coyote Records release of Joan's second CD produced by Travis Allen at Nashville Tracks L.A. .... LATEST NEWS --Joan is one of three finalists in Music From Home singer songwriter contest. Keep your fingers crossed. There is a huge prize! --Joan's fall 2006 shows in Germany went great! She has a blast with Canadian country guitarist Karen Hatch (of The Chickwagon Band out of Victoria, British Columbia). The audiences were delightful and very supportive. She's heard from many of her new German fans! Danke!! --In addition to numerous live radio appearances on public radio and college stations, Joan had an XM SATELLITE RADIO Channel 15--ONE HOUR INTERVIEW/LIVE PERFORMANCE. Hosted by Tom May on River City Folk, the interview featured discussions of early music influences (Woody Guthrie, Joan Baez, Elton John, Simon and Garfunkel, Judy Collins, Joni Mitchell) and six of Joan's original songs performed live. --This same one hour interview on River City Folk was syndicated to 150 STATIONS nationwide in October 2005. --The regular Enguita House Concert series that Joan and her husband host in their home is gaining ... less

It just comes naturally for Julie Gribble, writing, singing, and performing. But what she loves most is to inspire, to reach people with her music. With her Traditional Americana/Country Music, Gribble has entranced audiences with her modern stories of life, love and relationships. When you think about the edge of an artist like Lucinda Williams, the melodies of Allison Krauss, and a likeness to Natalie Merchant, you'll find Julie. Audiences connect immediately to the unique lyrics because they’re not the same old love clichés. As Craig Ferguson said, on his show about her record, So Typical, "It's Fantastic!"
A native of Atlanta, Georgia, Gribble was born with an infectious personality. Her younger years were spent on the stage as an actress which lead to her current film and tv career. She grew up writing poetry, which eventually led to song writing. She had always wanted to find a way to share her stories, and through hours of watching artists play guitar, drawing the chords on bar napkins and practice, her dreams became a reality. After a few open mics in LA she was offered her first gig and after that within a year released her first record, "Back Inside of Me." Through her own means and persistence, Gribble has managed to tour the US and Canada, open for major label artists, become the face of Hotel Indigo's Featured Artist, and be asked to perform on many national television shows around the country as well as numerous radio spots.
With her recent endorsement through Martin Guitars, Julie is armed and ready to tour for her newest release, "Letting Go." This is followed by her recent appearance in October, 2010 on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. After wrapping up her supporting role in the upcoming Sony Pictures Film, Quarantine 2, she also was a songwriting teacher and performer on Seth Green's new webshow, ControlTV. Currently Julie is a finalist in the GA Lottery's All Access Music Search where she has been touring, interviewing with radio stations and performed at the NFL Falcons Halftime Show on Nov.28th at the GA Dome.
Gribble’s music has been featured on Lifetime movie Dive at Clauson’s Pier, popular Nickelodeon shows Zoey 101,Drake and Josh and their TV movie Drake & Josh Go to Hollywood,South of Nowhere on Noggin, Smallville, CW Now, Housebroken starring Danny DeVito, and upcoming Sony Pictures film, Quarantine 2. More important than the thrill of an audience, she jumps at the opportunity to support a good cause. Julie’s always there, with her guitar in hand and a smile on her face. It’s not about her name in lights, it’s about telling her stories and touching those along the way. And people want to listen.

Lisa is right in the vanguard of the new generation of female songwriters who not only sing, but have taken the time to master their instrument as well (in her case, the guitar). She's got a clean, pure, agile voice coupled with some smokin' tight guitar licks making her a very compelling act to watch onstage. The Deans consist of Gavin Dean, Gary Keon and Donel Donelson. All from the west of Ireland and in their early twenties, the band have spent most of their teenage years on the road. Upon leaving school in their mid-teens, the group t...ravelled to London and different parts of the UK where they were pitched by their agent as a "ball's out blues band." Ball's out they were, blues they were not. The band played what seemed like every dive, bar and club from the west of Ireland to the mean streets of London and Leeds. As a convict would say "the lawyer f**ked me!". They dropped the agent and made a decision to get away from the confines of the creatively stifling blues circuit. Now in 2011 The Deans are a force to be reckoned with. Gavin Dean, the vocalist, guitarist and songwriter is the driving force behind the young band. His songs are filled with romantic notions, stories of travel and a lust for life that the band all share, stemming from an intense and early exoneration from the teenage years that they didn't have. It is Gavin Dean who is at the helm of this vessel steering The Deans on their musical journey, but a captain is lost without his first mate. This role is played to perfection by Gary Keon who has been pivotal in the story of the band. With his heavy handed and exciting drumming and soaring vocal ability, his contribution to the group is immense. Donel Donelson, bassist, vocalist and the latest edition to the group, has performed and toured with bands throughout Ireland since his early teens. His rocksteady bass style and unique vocal harmonys are a fabulous addition to the three piece. Since 2009 The Deans have toured extensively throughout Europe, playing venues and festivals in France, Spain, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and Holland. After being sighted at the Guitare-En-Scene festival in France by the organisers of the Montreaux Jazz Festival, the group were invited to perform at the 43rd anniversary of the world renowned music festival. Their music was used for the advertising campaign for both festivals that same year. It was fantastic exposure for the group and lifted their profile, especially in Europe. "Roots Rock" is the answer Gavin always gives when asked to define the musical styling of The Deans. "Our influences vary greatly. We listen to a lot of Folk, Country, Soul and Blues. On the way to a gig we could listen to anything from Bob Dylan to Paolo Nutini, from Bob Marley to Lonnie Donegan. We don't really listen to much heavy rock music. That heavy sound we have is just something that happens, we can't help it." –Gavin The Deans sound is immense. Melodic vocal harmonies combined with a hard hitting rhythm section and occasional horn section, their live performances are second to none. Wonderfully crafted songs with psychedelic musical mastery, leading to memorable live shows that always leave the crowd wanting more. In the words of one critic who said of The Deans live show, "That was liquid sex, from which we the audience all drank and were brought towards the orgasmic climax that freed us all from our minds for just a short while, all too short". The trio independently released their first single "Worried all the time" in November of 2010. The song reached into the Top 40 of the official Irish charts, making the small town boys the highest ranking independent entry for the month of November. There is a lot more to come from this engaging young group. They have set their sights on America and beyond. Also, they plan on releasing some new material later in the year. Their fan-base is a loyal and dedicated one that is growing each day. So let us all drink in the "liquid sex" and bask in the mesmeric sound of The Deans. less
