Bryon “Btrain” Holley (pronounced Brian) is a natural born drummer and artist. His love of world music has paved the way to a successful career as a professional drummer. He brings to the table a wealth of musical knowledge and professionalism that stems from a global window.
Bryon etched his way into the music industry by arming himself with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in three categories, Jazz Performance, World Music and Ethnomusicology, from the California Institute of the Arts (Cal-Arts). His education combined with his studies under artists like David Garabaldi, Joe LaBarbara, William Kennedy, Alfred and Kobla Ladzekpo catapulted him into becoming a talented world drummer. Bryon learned to create his own beats and rhythms while paying homage to the traditional elements of drum works by studying under the guidance of Kakraba Lobi (West African Balafon), Poovalur Srinivason (South Indian Rhythm Studies), John Bergamo (World Percussion), and J. Nyoman Wenten (Balinese Monkey Chant). Bryon has also included singing in his musical repertoire with vocal performance studies, and in studio experience.
Bryon is also a well-crafted studio musician with multiple percussion and vocal credits under his belt. He has recorded at the legendary Capital Records, Paramount Studios, and Westlake Audio, and has worked with Producers like Marti Fredricksen, John Baxter, Bob Esty, Michael Reid, and Stephen Hart. He is known for delivering high quality sound as well as precise rhythms and vocal tones that a Producer strives to capture. It’s these diverse elements that distinguish Bryon as a “hired-gun” in the recording industry.

I wanted to personally thank everyone who voted me "Best Country Drummer' in the 2010 Modern Drummer Magazine Reader Polls. It is a real thrill and an honor to receive this award! A huge thanks also goes to the fine staff of Modern Drummer, a magazine I have read every copy of since 1980!
I survived the devastating "1,000 Year Flood" in Nashville. Countless musicians lost precious instruments. Damages were in the high millions. Massive thanks to some great instrument insurance and my wonderful sponsors for pulling me through. Nashville's finest musicians pulled together to raise money for the Nashville community with the "Nashville Rising" concert at The Firestone Arena. I was proud to be part of it!
Since we last connected, Jason Aldean's "Wide Open" album achieved platinum status and produced 3 #1 singles including "She's Country", "Big Green Tractor" and "The Truth". We appeared on ABC's CMA Music festival "Country's Night To Rock", The Craig Ferguson Show, The George Lopez Show, The Today Show, The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and the 44th Annual CMA Awards (featuring a duet with Kelly Clarkson). less
