
Graham Marshall read music at Durham (UK) University, where he conducted the Durham Colleges Orchestra in a season of symphony concerts, as well as the Light Opera Group. He was awareded a scholarship in 1960 to study the structural functions of harmony in the music of Schoenberg and followers.
Throughout a working life of pastoral ministry as an Anglican priest from 1965 to 2002 he maintained an active interest in composing and conducting.
He is now Musical Director the Middleton Musical Society. A lifelong affection for music of a light-hearted led him to be the founder and conductor of the Rochdale Light Orchestra.
Graham married the soprano, Eleanor Horobin, in 1963. They have two sons, Stephen and Peter.
