Western Fusion was formed in the late 90’s by band leader Brian Childress. Brian’s goals were to have a band that sounded like radio and be composed of some of the best musicians Arizona has to offer.. In the beginning Western Fusion was a traditional country band. As the band evolved with musicians, so did the music. Today the standard five piece band still plays country including George Strait, Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, and now has recently evolved with hits from the 70’s, 80’s, including a mix of rock like Matchbox 20, No Doubt, Maroon 5, Goo Goo Dolls, Billy Idol, Def Leppard, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. Western Fusion is capable of going to a seven piece band with female singer Dierdre Evans, and Fiddle, Banjo, Mandolin, & Guitar player Michael Rolland. With these additions Western Fusion adds hits from Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and Gretchen Wilson.
Western Fusion has been on the local scene for almost 10 years and has enjoyed playing various venues throughout the state. The band has opened for National Acts such as: Blake Shelton and Mark Wills at Graham Central Station (formerly Rockin’ Rodeo). They were also the opening act for Charlie Daniels at Cliff Castle Casino. Western Fusion has also played the Tempe Block Party, events for the Town of Gilbert, Town of Camp Verde, Town of Chino Valley, City of Surprise, Phoenix International Raceway for the Nascar races, Coconino County Fair, Harrah’s Ak-Chin Casino, Apache Gold Casino and Fort McDowell Casino. The band has built up quite a fan base in recent years, selling their “Western Fusion” T-Shirts and Tank Tops at local shows. Soon Western Fusion will have their first all original CD available online and at local shows.
Western Fusion is capable of providing their own professional 16W’ x 12L’ x 18H” stage, JBL sound system, and intelligent lighting.
